What is Brazilian Butt Lift?
Brazilian Butt Lift, also known as BBL, fat transfer to the buttock, autologous fat transfer, fat injection, or lipofilling involves liposuction of areas of unwanted fat, processing of the fat, and injection of the fat into the buttock, hips and/or thighs. It is effective for individuals who have buttock sagging, or “ptosis” or for those who have lost weight or have depressions of their hip or buttock. It is also an effective treatment for “hip dips” or “banana rolls”.
Be sure to view our BBL photo gallery for some examples of the great results that Dr. Albert is known for.
This procedure can be performed under general anesthesia or local anesthesia with you awake. Smaller volume fat transfers are amenable to local anesthesia. Areas that can be liposuctioned include abdomen, sides, love handles, lower back, upper back, inner thighs, arms and any other areas that are bothersome. Incisions are a few millimeters long and are intentionally hidden in locations so others are unable to tell that any surgery was done. Postoperative swelling and fat resorption usually ends three months after the procedure and the final result can begin to be seen then.

Donor Site Liposuction and Buttock Fat Injection Procedure
A thin cannula will be used to liposuction fat from the donor sites of your choice after which the fat is decanted and prepared for injection. Specialized technique is used to inject the fat based on recent studies/literature in order maximize the volume that remains after three months. All fat is injected in a subcutaneous plane and intramuscular injection is avoided to maximize safety. A stage 1 faja garment will be provided at the time of the procedure and all sutures are dissolvable. Dr. Albert encourages patients to avoid pressure on the fat grafted areas for 3 weeks post-operation.
After the procedure, you will be accompanied home by a chaperone since general anesthesia can have unexpected effects overnight until the next morning. There may be soreness at the donor site.
